Mokulēʻia Malolo features an ocean festival, ocean swim race and two paddling races. The ocean festival and ocean swim take place at Camp Mokulēʻia. The paddling races start at Haleiwa Beach Park and Turtle Bay and end at the ocean festival at Camp Mokulēʻia.
The festival and races are presented by Roots Music Hawaiʻi and Kanaka Ikaika Racing Association.

Mark Tarone:
Lifelong surfer who has surfed a wave every week since Jan. 16, 2006 (except two hospital stints). 25+ Year Hawaiʻi event producer. Current manager of Taimane. Past manager of John Cruz. Division I NCAA All-Ivy athlete. Former Na Loiʻo Heʻe Nalu Co-Director. Past escort-boat captain.
Jim Foti:
Local Kailua Boy who grew up surfing and paddling around O’ahu with a long list of accolades as a waterman including 10 Molokaʻi channel wins in outrigger canoe paddling and induction into the Hawaiʻi Waterman Hall of Fame in 2017. Jim is a self-employed entrepreneur and the Executive Director of Kanaka Ikaika Racing Association, a Hawaiʻi nonprofit that has run paddling events since 1977.
Sarah Medwell Redican:
Lifelong community builder and athlete, as well as the matriarch of an ocean-rooted family with an avid, foiling husband and budding, canoe-paddling daughter. Co-Director of Wahine Lacrosse for the last 15+ years and former collegiate lacrosse player. Track record of turning vision into reality through team-building and positivity. 20+ year Hawai‘i teacher and current real estate agent.
Dolan Eversole:
Coastal management expert, former City & County of Honolulu ocean lifeguard, and passionate ocean- sport enthusiast and event producer. Dolan is a lifelong surfer and waterman with a long resume of ocean racing incl. over 30 Molokaʻi to Oʻahu races. He has organized over a dozen ocean-sport events in Hawaiʻi.
